(AsiaGameHub) - Indonesia terus melanjutkan kampanye agresifnya untuk memberantas perjudian online ilegal. Pada 13 April, sejumlah badan pemerintah yang dipimpin oleh Financial Services Authority (OJK) berkoordinasi memblokir 1.000 rekening bank yang digunakan untuk taruhan online. “Perjudian online … memiliki dampak luas terhadap perekonomian dan sektor keuangan,” ucap anggota dewan OJK sekaligus kepala perbankan Dian Ediana Rae pada bulan Maret. “OJK telah meminta bank untuk melakukan uji tuntas yang ditingkatkan atau pemblokiran terhadap 33.252 rekening” yang terkait dengan aktivitas ilegal tersebut. Indonesia adalah negara Muslim terbesar di dunia. Berdasarkan hukum Syariah, semua bentuk perjudian, baik darat maupun online, dilarang untuk warga lokal maupun orang asing. Undang-Undang Pengendalian Perjudian tahun 1974 menyebut perjudian “bertentangan dengan agama, kesopanan, dan moral Pancasila, serta berbahaya bagi kehidupan masyarakat, bangsa, dan negara”. Tujuan akhir undang-undang tersebut adalah “penghapusan total [perjudian] dari wilayah negara”. Anggota legislatif pada masa itu tidak dapat mengantisipasi munculnya perjudian online yang dapat diakses oleh para penjudi melalui aplikasi seluler dan saluran media sosial. Indonesia baru memberlakukan undang-undang baru untuk melarang taruhan online pada tahun 2024. Mulai Oktober tahun tersebut hingga Mei 2025, penegak hukum telah memblokir lebih dari 1,3 juta konten perjudian online. Mereka juga mengumumkan rencana untuk memblokir penggunaan e-wallet untuk perjudian online. Akibatnya, menurut Indonesian Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre (PPATK), volume perjudian online turun 57% dari tahun 2024 ke tahun 2025. Tahun ini, larangan tersebut diperluas untuk mencakup taruhan kripto. Taruhan melonjak saat acara olahraga besar berlangsung Perjudian di Indonesia membawa hukuman yang tegas. Para penjudi menghadapi hukuman penjara hingga lima tahun dan denda hingga RP1 miliar ($66.000). Operator dan promotor perjudian dikenakan penyitaan aset dan larangan penerbitan izin usaha selama 10 tahun. Meskipun negara ini tidak secara eksplisit melarang pasar prediksi, partisipasi dalam taruhan acara juga dianggap sebagai tindak pidana.
